Heart Beats

The little things that matter most

One of the earlier hearts... this one found its way to us from a friend who always seems to leave little notes and goodies at our house when she visits. It is like her calling card and the "Moments" she creates through this small gesture makes her very unforgettable. A lesson to all of us... "Moments" are never forgotten.

Life's little surprises

Imagine the surprise and the laughs when confessed potato chip lover, and creator of HEART&MIND® BRANDING, Kathy Heasley, popped open a bag and pulled out a heart. True love at first bite.

Hearts say, "You're on the right path."

But don't expect your signs to come through singing cherubs. This day, a wadded up used Kleenex marked the way. (Eww! that's disgusting... but a heart just the same.) The universe has a sense of humor. It's helpful to have one too.

From the Brush of a Five-Year-Old

While Kathy Heasley, our founder, was visiting with an elderly family friend in Naples, Florida, this heart all but greeted her at the door. When she walked into his condo, there it was, draped over his couch- this art piece, as if still drying. This lovely heart painted by his great-granddaughter speaks loudly how multilayered our hearts can really be. Be brave enough to look beyond the surface in yourself. Recognize the depths in others. When you do, you’ll be rewarded with the greatest gift you can give and receive… empathy.

Set in Stone

A sidewalk in Fountain Hills, Arizona, is the location of this rather perfect heart. It marks the course and paves the way. Ever wonder if you are making the right decision? Taking the right path? Look for the signs. Follow them and don’t worry about where or when the next heart will appear. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Look back only to learn, never to regret.

La dolce vita!

My sister the bee researcher gives us the best honey. After giving my mother-in-law a sample and myself a taste too, I looked in the jar and noticed a real "sweetheart." Be aware of your surroundings because sweet surprises, a.k.a inspiration, are everywhere.

Sweethearts Rule

Ah, chocolates! A box that looked so innocent and so yummy at a family gathering that when opened revealed a welcome surprise…hearts. When you are open to and appreciate life's magical surprises, even the sweetest of life's gifts can be sweeter. Who would have thought?

Journey to the Dark Side

There’s a little nook in downtown Boise, Idaho, called Freak Alley. If you haven’t seen it, take that unlikely right or left turn on foot. You’ll want to linger at the graffiti that graces the historic building walls. Much of it is dark, makes a social statement, boggles the mind and often, all at the same time. This heart was part of one image that shows- the heart can bleed. But fear not, because through that blood comes wisdom.

Don’t Treat These Hearts Gingerly

Ginger snaps. Shaped like hearts. Oh, so yummy. Oh, so plentiful. And oh, so strong! They make it from their gluten-free bakery to Whole Foods stores across the country in plastic containers and magically arrive in one piece. So few are ever broken. The heart is stronger than many of us think. It’s okay to take the risk, to take your shot. Your heart can take it, it most likely craves it.

Hearts in the Trees

Imagine how surprised founder, Kathy Heasley, was when a simple afternoon at the Tucson Botanical Garden turned into a heart-a-thon. This is just one of many pictures to come of the hearts that day, and too profound to pass up. Yes. That’s all it takes to brighten someone’s day (and your own). A smile. The universal “Moment” that connects us all as human beings—heart to heart. Try it.
